Learning Specialist

Marcia is an experienced and dedicated educator with a strong background in elementary instruction, tutoring, and afterschool programming. She has taught both second and third grade, developing engaging lesson plans and fostering supportive learning environments that encourage academic growth. Her work in early education has been complemented by experience as a tutor, where she provided individualized support to help students strengthen core skills in reading and math. Bilingual in English and Spanish, Marcia is adept at building connections with diverse students and families to support learning both in and out of the classroom.

With training in Lean Six Sigma and expertise in classroom management, strategic planning, and project coordination, Marcia brings a well-rounded skill set to her role as a Learning Specialist at The Lucy Project. She is committed to delivering evidence-based instruction that aligns with the Science of Reading, ensuring struggling readers receive the tools they need to succeed. Her patience, adaptability, and passion for literacy drive her work in helping every child reach their full potential.
