Brittney Pernell
Learning Specialist
Brittney Pernell is a dedicated educator and mentor with a strong foundation in social work and a passion for empowering students. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Barry University and is currently pursuing her master’s degree, with plans to obtain licensure upon graduation. Brittney has experience working with children from pre-kindergarten through high school, including roles as a camp counselor, teacher’s aide, and group facilitator. Her work in both educational and community settings reflects her commitment to creating supportive, inclusive environments where children can thrive academically and socially.
Drawing on her background in case management, group facilitation, and youth programming, Brittney brings empathy, strong communication skills, and a trauma-informed approach to her role as a Learning Specialist at The Lucy Project. She is passionate about mentoring the next generation and uses her skills to foster meaningful connections, guide personal growth, and help students build the literacy skills they need to succeed.
