Brittney Pernell is a dedicated educator, mentor, and social work professional with a passion for empowering youth and fostering academic success. She earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from Barry University and plans to pursue licensure to further expand her impact in the field. Brittney is also planning to continue her education by pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership, further strengthening her ability to lead and influence positive change in education.

Brittney brings a diverse background in both educational and community-based settings, with experience supporting children from pre-kindergarten through high school. Her roles have included camp counselor, teacher’s aide, and group facilitator, all of which have strengthened her ability to connect with students across developmental stages. She is committed to creating safe, inclusive, and engaging environments where children can grow both academically and socially.

In her role as an Education Programs Coordinator at The Lucy Project, Brittney utilizes her foundation in case management, group facilitation, and youth programming to support student learning and program implementation. She applies a trauma-informed approach, paired with strong communication and relationship-building skills, to ensure high-quality programming and meaningful student outcomes. Brittney is deeply passionate about mentoring the next generation and equipping students with the literacy skills and confidence they need to thrive.
