Monica Llerena

Director

Monica Llerena has been serving the South Florida community for over 30 years through her leadership at CBT Technology Institute, a career technical educational school. As CEO/President, she has been a strong advocate for education and workforce development, actively engaging with various committees and chambers across Miami-Dade. Her role as Executive Director of the Association of Private Colleges & Schools of South Florida deepened her commitment to advocacy, and through her work with the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Miami Program, she has strengthened connections within the nonprofit sector.

Passionate about community service, Monica is a board member of the FAPSC Foundation and serves on the Hard Hats and High Heels board with Habitat for Humanity. In 2020, while stranded in Peru during the pandemic, she worked with the U.S. embassy to help repatriate Americans and Peruvians, volunteering for months to ensure safe returns. Her dedication earned her the 2022 Hispanic Excellence Leadership Award from the Florida Panthers’ DEI division.
