Learning Specialist

Destiny Olazabal is a dedicated team member supporting The Lucy Project’s mission to provide full and fair access to evidence-based literacy intervention. She brings a robust educational background, holding a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (2024, Cum Laude) with a minor in Criminal Justice from Florida International University and an Associate of Arts in Psychology (2019) from Miami Dade College. Her hands-on experience includes working as a Substitute Teacher (2025-Present) and as a Math & English Tutor (2016-2017). She is also Bilingual English and Spanish.

Destiny’s professional skills, including being adaptable, detail-oriented, and a quick learner , align with TLP's goal of empowering teachers and supporting struggling readers. With her teaching experience, she can help TLP implement Structured Literacy programs (like the Literacy Hub ) and support professional development , ensuring all students build a strong reading foundation. Her commitment helps TLP lower barriers to effective remediation aligned with the Science of Reading.
