Erica is a dedicated reading specialist and education consultant with nearly two decades of experience helping students develop strong literacy skills. She holds a B.A. in English from the University of Michigan and an M.S. in Reading Education from Florida International University, graduating with top honors in both programs. Erica’s expertise spans classroom teaching, small-group intervention, and one-on-one tutoring, all grounded in the science of reading. She is passionate about fostering a lifelong love of literacy while providing data-driven, individualized instruction to meet the needs of each learner.

In addition to her work as the founder of Growing Readers, Erica partners with schools, nonprofits, and families to provide consulting, training, and assessments that strengthen literacy instruction and outcomes. She has designed and led professional development for educators, coordinated large-scale literacy events, and achieved measurable gains for struggling readers, including moving 75% of her strategic intervention students up to grade level. With certifications in Reading Specialist, Elementary Education, and Elementary ESL across multiple states, Erica brings both a deep knowledge of literacy education and a heartfelt commitment to helping students succeed.
