Kiara Garcia

Education Programs Coordinator

Kiara's passion for literacy began while volunteering in an afterschool literacy program called Pages for All Ages, where she witnessed the transformative impact that reading and education can have on children and families. Kiara brings five years of classroom teaching experience, providing instruction in both small-group and whole-group settings while creating an engaging, data led, and student-centered learning environment. She also had the opportunity to serve as a mentor teacher, supporting colleagues in their professional growth and instructional practices. Kiara holds a Bachelor's degree in Health Science and a Master's degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Florida, bringing a unique blend of educational expertise and a commitment to supporting lifelong learning. These experiences inspired a lasting commitment to educational equity and literacy. As an Education Programs Coordinator, Kiara is excited to support the Lucy Project's mission by developing and strengthening literacy opportunities and fostering a love of learning throughout the community.
