WILL TRANSFORM THEIR FUTURE, TODAY.

Help bring literacy to every child in Miami.

Any and all donations are needed and appreciated.

What about the children who can’t afford private tutors?

It’s no secret that the equity gap in education is harming children. Our current public school system does not meet the needs of many of its students. Those who come from families that can afford private tutoring will fare better than those who cannot. And the life-long implications of this disparity cycle breeds inequity, poverty, and social injustice on a grand scale. This cycle must be broken for all children to have equal opportunity to flourish.

Your financial gift allows The Lucy Project to offer free and subsidized expert-led remediation to children who need it the most. They are ready to learn, willing to work hard, and so worthy of success. All they need is a little help from some friends.

You can help children reach their full potential.

MAXIMIZE YOUR IMPACT

Give Monthly

Your gift gives children and families the happiness they deserve.

When a child struggles in school, it impacts the whole family. Daily homework battles and sleepless nights become the norm. The feeling of helplessness can be debilitating. Schools are not equipped to provide solutions and private tutoring is expensive. By funding the lessons that get children reading, you are changing a child’s future and an entire family’s quality of life.

 The impact of your gift

Your gift is used to help The Lucy Project train educators, offer free tutoring in Title I schools, and subsidize lessons in our income-based sliding-scale private tutoring program.

Specialists trained to get them reading.

Each child is given an educator who understands learning history and uses tools and methods customized to their unique learning style. It’s not just compassionate. It works.

Free solutions brought to their school.

Accessibility is key to closing the equity gap in education. We bring free, daily reading remediation to children in Title I schools, ensuring all of their educational needs are met in one safe space.

Agency, self-esteem, and hope.

When a child who has struggled finally begins to read, they realize their own brain-power. They see their potential, they know they are supported, they feel there is hope—and they start to dream big.

Support systems for parents.

As parents of children who struggled to read, we understand the importance of compassionate support. Parents of students are given empowering information and choices every step of the way.

Changing the system for good.

We advocate for system-wide change so that all children can receive the specialized care they need to learn to read. Partner schools are given training and support to implement solutions in their classroom.

Brighter futures for generations.

Literate children impact communities and the job market in ways that benefit everyone. They are more likely to graduate, stay away from crime, and have a life free from poverty. This ripples for generations.

"I felt like I was failing as a parent. I didn’t know where to begin to look for help. Janelle’s grades were slipping, she was getting made fun of at school, teachers tried everything they could, but it just wasn’t enough. I got a quote for private tutoring that was more than our rent bill each month. There was no way we could afford it. When The Lucy Project offered us income-based lessons that are subsidized by donors, I cried. I finally felt like I could give Janelle the future she deserves."
